End of Disruption
24/March/11 14:30 Catergory:Web Site
Thanks to the move to a new server I now have the latest version of PHP. PHP is a web scripting language used to produce dynamic web pages. This has enabled me to add a contact page to the web site which you can use to send me an email.
Severe Interruption Possible
22/March/11 11:27 Catergory:Web Site
You might have been enjoying the Christleton site for the past two days but I have not. The site has been moved to a new server and it was not straightforward in that I was locked out of the site for 48 hours. All a bit worrying but thankfully I now have access again. Not long before the April edition of the Parish Magazine will be online so keep a look out for that. It has a lovely Easter theme cover.
Popular Web Pages

The Christleton web site is being moved to a new server. This means that the whole site will have to be reloaded to the new server. With the currently pathetic upload speeds this will take a few hours. So there could be an interruption in being able to access the site. Not sure when this will take place. Perhaps today 22nd March or perhaps the 23rd or 24th.
Giants Parade in Chester 2010
21/March/11 12:02 Catergory:Chester
Visitors to the Christleton web site do not always enter via the front door (christleton.org.uk). Many arrive via the results of a search and therefore first arrive on one of the other pages. Most arrive via the front door but the top 10 pages for arriving on include the Church Guide, Parish Council and the page on Delamere Forest I did back in 2002. Just making it at number 10 is the page on Beating the Bounds 2010. The Traffic Consultation page and What's On are just outside of the top 10 at present. Bottom of the list at 101 is the page on the snow in 2000 which does not surprise me.
As for the pages with the most views. At number 1 is St James' Church followed by the What's On page, The Church Guide, Parish Magazines for 2011, Parish Council and the Village Map are all in the top 10. This Blog page comes in at number 14. Bottom of the list at 220 is the page on the snow in 2000. Nobody has looked at it for the past month.

Two New Bridge Street Views
15/March/11 19:14 Catergory:Chester
Another new page added today under Events. The Parade of Giants in Chester during June 2010. To mark mid summers day. I know that there are already quite a number of excellent web pages covering this event but no harm in Christleton displaying some of the photographs I took of the Saturday parade. The coverage of such events on the web site brings more visitors to the Christleton web site. Will talk about this more in the next blog entry on popular pages.
Parish Council Minutes Available
15/March/11 10:53 Catergory:Parish Council
Have added two interesting views to the Bridge Street, Chester page. One of the crypt which was form many years the Chester bookshop Booklands. The other is an interesting letterhead for the Albion Hotel which had superior stabling with lock up coach houses.
