Phil and Sue have announced that they are closing the Village Shop on 28th February, 2013. They intend to continue with the newspapers and newspaper deliveries from other premises and more details about this will be confirmed at a later date.
It was a calamity when Christleton lost its Post Office a few years ago. But we did gain a wonderful Village shop run by Phil and Sue. As high street shops fail and disappear the village of Christleton is now in danger of losing the Village Shop. But all is not lost. There is time to save the shop. Please read the article on the Home Page, spread the news and then do all you can personally to keep the shop running as a vibrant and profitable business.
A poster for David Cummings' 2012 Jim Partington Memorial Talk on 27th October has been added to the What's On Page
Thanks to Lina Turner I have now added details about the Chester Grosvenor Guild on the Groups Page
Despite the less than perfect weather the 2012 Christleton Fete went ahead and there are more photographs of any previous Fete on the web site. Over 150 photographs spread across four pages. Page 1 features the Village Green and the procession. Page 2 takes up the procession at the Primary School and the Crowning of the Rose Queen. Page 3 features people, the tug of war and the stalls. And finally Page 4 continues with more people and the Irish Dancing. At the bottom of each page there are links to the other Fete Photograph Pages.
Christleton High School has resubmitted its controversial planning application. The CWACC Planning Dept reference is: 12/02493/FUL 'Proposed AGP (Artificial Grass Pitch) to replace and enlarge an Existing All Weather Facility'. Earlier observations from the exhibition of plans in the Parish Hall in April were that the proposal were identical with the previous one. It would appear after a quick look through the on-line documents that appears to be confirmed.
There are now are large number of photographs available of Christleton celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. These have been shared amongst three pages. Jubille 1, Jubilee 2 and Jubilee 3. All sub menu pages to the Village/2012 page. There have unfortunately been problems. Had you logged on last night you would have seen all three pages in the style of Jubilee 3. The pages viewed alright on my desktop Mac but did not work on my iPad. So I changed Jubilee 1 and Jubilee 2 to a style I have used before on the site for photos. Unfortunately these also do not view correctly on my iPad so for the time being I have left Jubilee3 in the style that I originally inter for all three pages.
On Jubilee3 you have full screen images with the ability to hide the menus. You can pause, play and also if you click on the tray on the right hand side show the images in a small format across the screen. Try it out before I perhaps decided to change it.
