Traffic Issues

I spent an interesting morning at Christleton Parish Hall where the Parish Council had an open morning. There were quite a number of stands and the event appeared to be well attended. There was a lot of interest in the traffic stand where Geoff Butt listened patiently to villagers views on the ever increasing problem of cars and parking in the village. The time when the village is given back to the residents seemed to me to be still an unsolved problem. The Christleton Community plan had a stand in which they asked visitors to put certain village issues in order of importance. At the time I filled the form in I was the only one that put a Post Office as number one priority. Thinking of myself of course but is that not what most people do. First prize for the best looking stand goes to David Cummings who was promoting the Village Show. Margaret Croston was in charge of the old newspaper cuttings. Margaret is opening the Village Show this year. It was one of the recent articles that interested me as it was in the Chester Chronicle the one week I did not buy the newspaper. It seems that the Sainsbury's roundabout is going to be turned into not a sausage roll or an eccles cake but a hamburger roundabout. It looks as if we are going to have to endure 6 months of delays because of this work.

The Parish Council page was becoming quite hefty in size and needed some time to load before I could edit it. To aid my impatience the links to the minutes of meetings from 2005 to 2010 have now been moved to a new page. Minutes for 2011 will appear when available on the Parish Council page.
