Following yesterdays big addition with the Story of Christleton Pit there has been yet another new section added to the site. Readers of St. James' Parish Magazine will already be familiar with Nature Notes written by David Cummings. He has started a new monthly feature called
Wildlife Watch which will keep you in touch with what he has seen in and around Christleton and also on his travels. The January edition is now available on the web site.

Yes Royal Mail queues are coming for people in Christleton. Since the sad and unnecessary demise of Christleton Post Office villagers now have to go to either Boughton, Waverton or Huntingdon. On Thursday 23rd June Huntingdon Post Office closes. I am going to miss David and Diane who have been looking after me daily for the past few years. There is no immediate replacement. It is planned that a post office will open sometime at Walkers Nurseries in Saighton but a date has not been fixed. In the meantime the hundreds of customers now using Huntingdon will have to go to elsewhere so expect delays. What happened to our wonderful Royal Mail considered to be one of the best in the world years ago. Why do you pay a postman £18,760 whilst you pay a woman a basic salary of £498,000 plus a lot more benefits to increase postal rates and slash the service even further? If you have the answer perhaps we might get Christleton Post Office back.

A new page known to geeks as a splash page has been added. This is an introduction page before the main web site which I will use to highlight something. It contains a link to the main home page. As you will see the page does not appear in the menu. Its first use is as a reminder about Christleton Fete to be held on Saturday 25th June.
