Spring and Summer, 2012

We continue look for a permanent youth leader to run the Crew. Until then the meetings will continue to be held monthly with a full programme published at the end of each term for the following term.

Tina Lightfoot, a member of the PCC is acting as co-ordinator so please contact her with any queries via email: tina.lightfoot@googlemail.com.

Tina used to run the Church youth club but that was over 20 years ago so she will need your help, especially with all the forms etc!

If you know anyone who would like to join the Crew, please pass their details onto Tina and she will endeavour to send them all the necessary info. Likewise, if anyone wants to buy a Crew Hoodie, ask Tina for a form.

Crew Update - October, 2011

The Crew’s Autumn term was kicked off with a trip to the Cheshire Oaks bowling alley. We had a great time playing ‘glow in the dark’ bowling, although it was quickly discovered that the new year 7 members were a lot better at the game than the leaders! It was also good to see some of our older members before they left for university. We wish them all the best this term and hope that they will come back to see us during their Christmas holidays.

If you are in Year 7 or above and are interested in joining the Crew youth group please contact the Rector for more information.

Crew Update - March 2010

The Crew have had another busy term starting with our involvement in the Christingle service and ending with an Easter egg hunt and party. We had a great time making pancakes in preparation for Shrove Tuesday and since then have all (more or less) kept to our Lent resolutions!

We have been involved in a number of Church events this term, including the Healing service and the cake sale after the Guiding service in February. We would like to thank everyone who supported us at this event; we raised over £200 in aid of the Haiti earthquake appeal.

In our meetings we have had lots of fun playing games and eating food. We have also had a number of evenings focusing on issues such as child poverty and homelessness. One recent highlight has been holding a Passover meal which helped to bring to life the events of Maundy Thursday and create a deeper understanding of the life of Jesus and his disciples.

Two of our leaders, Petrina and James Weddell, will be leaving at the end of the summer term. We therefore need 2 new leaders to help Catriona. At present there are 12 members and we meet each Sunday during term time from 6pm – 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. If you are interested in helping please contact us via email at:
thecrew@christleton.org.uk for further information.
