Programme for 2011 - 12

Did you know that Christleton has its own Gardening Club?

We have been meeting together now for several years and during that time many new people have moved into the village, but rarely do they join us.
We have an excellent programme of speakers and events, regular visits to N.G.S.and enthusiast’s gardens. From time to time there are plant swaps where you could restock your garden with other member’s overgrown perennials.
If you enjoy growing things, anything from a house plant to a market garden, we’d love some new members, new vitality, and new ideas.
The annual subscription is only £10, we meet every second Monday of the month at the Methodist Church Hall (by the pond) at 7.30pm.
In order to entice you, we invite you to come along FREE to our next meeting on February 14
th.
Mr Harry Delaney of Reese Heath College will be giving a talk entitled “Seeds - when, where, how?”
Of course, you don’t need to live in Christleton in order to join us, if you read “THE A 41” you wont have far to travel!
If you would like to know more, telephone Ann Wilkinson 01244 332388

Discussion after the latest meeting
Willow Sculptures for the Garden

MAY 2010. We concluded our indoor speaker sessions with a demonstration of Willow Weaving by Caroline Gregson. Our talks this year have been varied and most interesting thanks to the hard work by Sarah Bromage our programme organiser.

From Winter Colour to Christmas Plant Decorations to Sweet Peas and on to the Indian Ocean we have been inspired.

JUNE, JULY and AUGUST 2010. We now move to our garden visits. Firstly to Poulton Hall, in Bebington to see the quirky garden made by June Lancelyn Green on June 14 at 2.30p.m and then to the gardens of Saighton Grange on July 12 at 6.30p.m to view the ongoing restoration work in this little masterpiece of garden design. Finally, in August we go to Northop College to see the fuschia collection.

Visitors are welcome to these outings but please inform Judith Butt on
jbutt@waitrose.com or 01244335296 in advance.
