The Crew Youth Group enjoyed a great trip to Chester Zoo as part of the summer term program of events. Ten of our members came along to see everything from the penguins and orang-utans being fed to the elephants taking a bath! Unfortunately the big cats had to be kept inside on the day we visited due to high winds. This is a precaution taken by the zoo keepers in case any trees are blown over and damage the fences allowing lions or tigers to escape. A very wise decision!

Other activities this term have included tending the graves at St James, rehearsing for the flower service, and running a ësweat shopí activity to understand the lives of children in poorer countries. We have played all sorts of games and sports including rounders, dodgeball, badminton and hockey. At Easter we also enjoyed decorating cakes, making pancakes (and seeing how high we could flip them!) and doing egg and spoon obstacle course races.

We are always keen to welcome new members from Year 7 upwards. We meet on a Sunday evening from 6pm-7.30pm during term time in the Parish Hall. Our first meeting of the Autumn term will be on Sunday 7th September, so please feel free to come along and join in.
