I only know Partington's the butchers in Village Road, Christleton from the year we moved to the village, 1977. At that time there was also a food shop at Red House in Pepper Street run by a Mrs. England. I think that it closed later that same year but which still left some shops in Quarry Lane as well as the Post Office. Now only the Post Office as a food shop remains and hopefully it will be serving the village for many years to come.
