| The Rector the Reverend Peter Lee welcomed a large gathering to St. James' Church, Christleton on Christmas Eve, 2000 to sing carols and say prayers. The service was very well attented with people from Christleton plus visitors from other parts of the country and overseas. The weather was very kind being dry with a crispness in the air. By the light of torches and lanterns the carols including O little town of Bethlehem, While Shepherds watched, We three Kings, Silent Night, Away in a manger and O come all ye faithful drifted into the night sky. The donkey standing near the crib twitched his ears in appreciation when Little Donkey, Little Donkey was sung. After the carols many people went into church to see the large Christmas tree by the altar and the nativity scene. |
