85 walkers & 7 dogs took part, and 46 completed the whole perambulation, including 5 month old Isobel Holland. The walkers were led by Roger Croston, John Carruthers, David Bowden and myself, and excellent support was given by the farming community including Mr & Mrs Fitton, Mr Jones, Ed Walley & Barbara, Mr. & Mrs. Hill, Mr & Mrs Pickering, Mr & Mrs Bunnell, and Ames & Elizabeth Hellicar & nephew gave us a wonderful send off and celebratory refreshments and drinks at the end of the walk at the Old Glass House. Our back up car was very kindly provided by Lois Dickenson. Apart from the great opportunity to talk to many old & new acquaintances the highlights of the walk included sightings of early purple & common spotted orchids, ragged robin, buzzards, skylarks and kingfisher. Congratulations to all who took part, especially those who completed the whole perambulation. The next Beating of the Bounds ceremony will be in May 2010.
