Sergeant Parker’s name was a late addition to the Memorial Wall in the Church, and on the War Memorial is recorded as Rifleman A Parker. However a search of the CWGC website provides only the name Albert Parker Kings Liverpool aged 19 at Hermies Hill.

However a deeper search of paperwork for burials at Hermies Hill British Cemetery reveals a Sgt Albert Parker.

Sergeant Albert Parker from Liverpool Police was the Driver/Companion of Mrs Townsend Logan during the war. His son Pte William Parker from Kings Liverpool is on the Christleton War Memorial so I’m guessing that Sgt Albert Parker is probably his father. The co-incidence is great.

A further search of the actions of the 12th Liverpool Battalion is needed before we can be sure, we have the correct soldier.
